Birthday ATC

I'm celebrating the big 50 this year. Ildi Geist has a cool kit - First Half- out with all sorts of vintage elements, specifically for this 'theme' I had a lot of fun putting this double sided ATC together....maybe I should send one to all my fellow half century friends this year....hmmmmm. I found those great ATC backs in Beth Rimmer's store. Perfect for my ATC...

ATC are waaaay more fun than what is 'safe' I think, there is something 'addictive' about making these little treasures. Like making 'inchies' for paper scrapping. Once you start it is hard to stop!

    Meisie, Ha! you're still a baby - I'm older than you ...way older. :p LOL

    I still don't know if what I'm looking at here are just digi images, or are you actually drawing on some of them and collaging, irl? Doesn't matter either way, I love what you do.

    These are all 100% digital.Anything I paint/draw to add to these, is also done digitally :-) I'm so glad you like them, I enjoy looking through my stash....
    Hmmm think I can persuade my sons that I'm not that old, just getting on a little?...hehehehehe

I knew this quote needed to go into my journal pronto! I did end up making a card for hubby using it for the sentiment. You can see that one HERE And this is what I did in the journal : I kept it very simple as I wanted the quote to be the strong focal point. I used a loose letter alphabet that I picked up from Michaels for $1.50 long ago.  When I first started the journal, I added some colour to each and every page. Some more, some a little. Some painted some with oil pastels. The idea was to make a start to facilitate quick page making in the future. And I tell you it works. It was tedious to start with, but I'm so glad now that I did it that way. The composition book pages are pretty sturdy, but they do 'shine' or show through on the other side when you use bold colour of felt tip markers. Something to watch out for. More ATC's

Sadly I've not had time to keep up with the Caravan....but I see it as a delicious box of chocolates that I will one day-soon-  pick up and saviour putting the pages together! Oh yum! I'm looking forward to that!! Meantime I've added some ATC's to my collection. These are all double sided, whether they are journal prompts or not. She Lemon Tree and Atlantis Lost? I'm so thrilled every time I hold the printed versions in my hands! Something about the size I think....

Digi or 'real'?

I recently did the page below in a small journal that I have.(you can see the edges of the book in the untrimmed image) The quote is by Stuart C Hackett and I found it in Lee Strobel's book 'A Case For Creator' Now I had a very definate idea of what I wanted to achieve, and yet, although not displeased, I feel it could have been so much better. I used oil pastels and stamping and added the little tags on the side to feature the quote in it's original latin. I kept it simple and focussed on purpose, but I'm sure I will be doing that one again digitally in the near future. For me digital just has so many more possiblilties. Here is another quote I did....there is a page in the book for it, but I was so unhappy with it, that I recreated it digitally so I can stick this version over the comparative insipid one in the book.
