ICAD June 2015 Week 2

This week's prompts is to use paints and there is a daily colour combination suggestion. Really really nice ones.

Day 8 - grapefruit & cherry. I was still in the same 'mode' as last week. This is not very inspired...




Day 9 - carrot and lemon. Also a left over from last week. Not a bad but had I just played with the colours and paint, both the last 2 cards might have been more vibrant.




Day 10 - ginger & eggplant. Great colours together and the new stamp set that had just arrived begged to be used ;-)




Day 11 - mango & lime. I finally broke out the (craft) acrylics and immediately wished I had done so before. This was very fast moving, imprompto and 'free' I had no idea if it will work, but I knew I liked the colours and I'm pleased with the card




Day 12 - parsnip & kiwi. Not as vibrant, but I like how it turned out. The black splatters are the kiwi seeds ;-) It is much too easy to revert to splattering and spray/dripping on every card, so I try to restrain myself. Here it seemed appropriate though.





Day 13 - blueberry plum. This one gave me no end of trouble. Still don't know that I like it. Not even a bit. But I'm not going to fuss over it any more.



 Day 14 - Salt & Pepper. I certainly could have done something more involved, but I wanted it 'simple' and I like the result!

Icad 2016 - Batch 02

Since i was travelling the first month of this year's Icad, I decided to take a bunch (about 30) index cards with me, ready prepped with some colour on them. I simply laid them out in batches on top of an art journal and took my trusty alcohol sprays to them. At least this way I had a beginning of colour and did not need to take too many art supplies with me. The next batch of 5 cards completes the poetry collection. There were so many great bits and pieces I wanted to preserve, but decided they may go into art journals instead. I selected from my pre-coloured cards those that have colours reflecting the mood of the poem. Once home I added more colour, some stamping and inking details.  I also added the respective poet's name onto most of the cards. For the next card I stuck a feather on the card as the poem refers to a dropped feather. Not the right bird, but the thoughts counts I think! This card really 'made itself' as the saying goes. Circus ATC

ATC and circus…to me the 2 together are a no brainer. ATC’s are so much fun to make and the imagery of the circus so rich that I suspect I could make a dozen cards at least and not get tired of them. Ildi Geist’s goodies again provided me with ample fodder for this one (products used are no longer available) Ildi has a great new Page Set coming out tomorrow. I feel an ATC coming on!!!
